Truckee Meadows Watershed MapServer
As rain or snow falls around the Truckee Meadows, water washes down hillsides
and across pavement into creeks which flow into the Truckee River. As this
water "runs off" slopes and paved areas, it carries dirt and harmful chemicals
into the Truckee River. With better management practices and your support,
we can reduce pollution to protect the Truckee River, a major source of our
drinking water and a vital community resource.
Use this MapServer to locate creeks near your neighborhood and "zoom in" to view specific watershed issues which must be managed as our region grows.
You may zoom to an individual creek or alternately your neighborhood region using the dropdown lists at the top of this page. Click on the photos on the right side of the screen to highlight their photo locations in the map display or view a slideshow. Click the topmost photo to display a site map of its location.
This public information portal is sponsored by the Truckee Meadows Regional Stormwater Committee, a collaboration between the Cities of Reno, Sparks and Washoe County to reduce stormwater pollution in our region. This Watershed MapServer has been designed and developed with the assistance of the GIS Division at the City of Reno.
